REVIEW
This 10 and half minute short by Anthony Spadaccini is a throw back to early days of Buster Keaton & Charlie Chaplin silent films. MONDAY MORNING is a tribute to these classic silent comedies. It was shot and edited in the fashion of an old Charlie Chaplin misadventure. It tells the story of Trevor, a 9-to-5 office worker who is threatened with termination by his boss because he is running late. You will see Trevor's ridiculous misadventures as he struggles to simply make it to work on time. Though the film is shot on video, Spadaccini uses a few different effects to effectively achieve the old film look complete with film scratches and skips. He also utilizes the fast motion we have come to associate with older films. This short is anchored by a very good performance by Duane Noch who provides good physical humor. Noch is an accomplished stage, film, and television actor who has appeared on "Law and Order" and "Third Watch." The short also features a fun soundtrack. Recognition: "Monday Morning" was an official selection at the Action On Film Festival (2005), Bryn Mawr Film Institute (2005), Cleveland Micro Fest (2005), Indie Can Film Festival (2006), Estes Park Film Festival (2006), and 2nd Indie Can Film Festival (2006).
